Position:   Secondary Freshman ELA Teacher

Requirements:  Tennessee Teacher's Certification and license

                          Copy of resume and transcripts

Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Administers and develops subject specific assessments for the purpose of assessing student competency levels and/or developing individual learning plans.
  • Advise parents and/or legal guardian of student progress for the purpose of communicating expectations; student's achievements; developing methods for improvement and/or reinforcing classroom goals in home environment
  • Assess student progress towards objectives, expectations, and/or goals for the purpose of providing feedback to students, parents and administration.
  • Collaborates with instructional staff, other school personnel, parents and a variety of community resources for the purpose of improving the overall quality of student outcomes, achieving established classroom objectives in support of the school improvement plan.
  • Demonstrates and differentiates, methods required to perform classroom and/or subject specific assignment for the purpose of providing an effective program that addresses individual student requirements.
  • Instruct students for the purpose of improving their success in academics through a defined course of study.
  • Manages student behavior for the purpose of providing a safe and optimal learning environment.
  • Understand the Tennessee English Language Arts Standards.

The Bledsoe County Board of Education is accepting applications for the following:

Position:   Middle School Assistant Principal

Requirements:  Valid TN Teachers License/Certification

                          Administrative Certification

                          Obtain and maintain TEAM teacher evaluation certification 

                         Copy of resume and transcripts

Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

• Responsible for assisting with the educational mission of the school system at assigned school.

 • Assists the building principal with the safety, care and up keep of his/her school. Keeping in mind the     

    needs of the students.

 • Assists with the opening and closing of the assigned school each day at the time established by the       

   building principal.

 • Evaluates teachers and other personnel as outlined in state law and Board policies as directed by the  

     building principal.

 • Assists in overseeing the health and safety of the students. Conduct fire drills as outlined by State

    requirements.

 • Assists the conducting of teachers’ meetings, parent-teacher conferences, school activities, and school

   exhibits as often as needed to insure a proper learning environment.

 • Assists with the proper care and accounting of all equipment, textbooks, and supplies assigned to the

   school.

 • Makes building reasonably available to teachers after school hours as needed, per Principal’s policy.

 • Assists in administering the code of discipline and behavior within the school in accordance with BOE   

   policy and building principal’s authorization.

 • Assists in ensuring that the United States Flag is displayed during each school day.

 • Observes all other rules and regulations relative to the operation of the school as established by law

    and State Board of Education.

 • Assists in the resolution of complaints and grievances when they arise. Informs parents, students,

   teachers and others of all compliant or grievance procedures and requirements as required.

 • Assists in the supervision of approved extra-curricular activities to support the overall instructional   

    program at respective school.

 • Assists in the management of all school fiscal matters in an efficient and honest manner, per       

    Principal’s guidelines.

 • Assists in the efficient management of all resources provided in support of the overall instructional    

   program.

 • Evaluates assigned personnel for the purpose of ensuring that standards are achieved and    

   performance is maximized.

 • Assists in the guidance, teaching, assisting and evaluation of all staff and faculty members in his/her        

   school as authorized by the building principal.

• Represents the school and community in a positive manner.

Position:   Attendance Intervention Counselor/Social Worker

Requirements:  Valid Tennessee License (preferred but not required)

                          Counseling or Social Work Endorsement or work experience in area

  • Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Maintain a professional awareness of regulations regarding child welfare and attendance by having a working knowledge of state law, board policy and administrative regulations.
  • Confers regularly with student personnel services regarding attendance matters.
  • Works closely with teachers, school nurses, guidance counselors, and principals regarding students who are absent or tardy too frequently and who have not responded to the corrective efforts made by the building principal.
  • Liaison between LEA and parents of truant students.
  • Collates weekly attendance reports from all schools and complies monthly district-wide attendance reports.
  • Maintains records of Truancy Board.
  • Compiles weekly truancy board list for schools.
  • Organizes truancy board data for court dates.
  • Maintains records of students' attendance at truancy board meeting.
  • Schedules and represents LEA in Tier II Truancy Meetings.
  • Conducts such auditing of enrollment, attendance, and transfer records in schools as may be necessary to assure compliance with applicable laws and principles of accounting for students.
  • Participate in case conferences.
  • Refers any student who appears to have exceptional problems which interfere with school attendance or adjustment to schools counselors and psychologist.
  • Initiates petitions to juvenile court and prepares cases for formal hearings.
  • Attend family court when Attendance Supervisor is unavailable.
  • Serves as liaison between the school and the parents, court, community agencies and police authorities when Attendance Supervisor is unavailable.
  • Works closely with guidance counselors in the identification and counseling of potential dropouts.
  • Oversees registration and record keeping for home school students.

Position:  Apprentice District Technician

Place:  System Wide

Requirements:  1. High School Diploma or GED with computer technical certification or training preferred.

                          2.  Videography a Plus

                          3.  Two years of computer related experience required.

                          4.  Copy of resume

Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Ensure computers and related equipment in the school are working properly; arrange for need maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot problems with computers and other equipment; may independently solve minor problems or seek assistance from appropriate technical professionals.
  • Assist users with Skyward, School Station, School Messenger, Alexandria, web-pages, etc.., as needed.
  • Receive installation requests from building technicians via School Station, perform installation/updates software and hardware.
  • Assist in maintaining a complete inventory of computers and related hardware.
  • Provide timely resolution of computer problems by repairing equipment, meeting the specific need, or seeking assistance from professional (within 24 hours of first reported issue).
  • Perform data retrieval, maintain adequate software licensing, and protect copyright guidelines, as required.
  • Assist with tracking and controlling the relocation of equipment  to school personnel.
  • Responsible for/keep track of all tools and equipment assigned to DT
  • May assist with ordering supplies and identifying correct equipment, as needed.
  • Assist in managing Aruba server environment; installs, configures and manages existing VMware environment.
  • Manges a complete inventory of all interconnecting devices and servers (switches, routers, Aps and Servers); Communicates with vendor technical support to resolve issues.
  • Manages and resolves MCS network outages in a timely manner with zero to minimal data loss.
